Orwak is part of the PHS Group, which has been involved in waste disposal since 1963. As a waste management company with over 40 years experience, we are acutely aware of the need to protect the environment and minimise any potential harm that our services or business operation may cause.
We are committed, not only to operating in full compliance with current legislation, but also to better managing our environmental and social obligations as a blue chip company.
In 2008 we launched WAWE, an internal initiative focused on reducing the environmental impact of PHS Group's operations. This has so far resulted in a 5% reduction in carbon emissions across the group. WAWE stands for Waste, Air, Water and Energy, and actions have been taken in each of these areas to ensure our operations have as little impact as possible on the environment.
